0-10 Number Bingo

For our fabulous Foundation (Prep) teachers...
This week we are continuing with our resources aimed at Foundation teachers and are adding 1-10 Number Bingo to our collection.

Number Bingo includes two sets of 8 placemats and number cards (0 – 10).
Bingo Set 1 includes: numerals, number names and 10’s frames (great for number recognition and developing subitising)

Bingo Set 2 includes: cards as above – however, 10’s frames are replaced by pictures to further develop subitising with  random items.

Print placemats (choose the most appropriate set for your students) and cards in colour and laminate.
Model and play Number Bingo with small groups until students understand how the game works, the rules, how to play fairly and how to be a good winner/participant.
To play Number Bingo…
q  Groups can have up to 9 people playing – 1 to shuffle and deal out cards , 8 with Number Bingo placemats
q  Elect one person to shuffle and show the Number Cards one at a time. Students use a counter to mark off the matching numbers they have on their placemat. Cards that have been shown are placed in a neat pile and will be used at the end of the game to check the winner’s Bingo placemat
q  When students have 3 in a row - they call out ‘BINGO!’
q  The person showing the Number Cards checks their answers – if they are all correct, they are the winner. Students pass their placemat (and the dealer’s cards) to the left, then play again
Variations…
q  Students can match the whole Number Bingo placemat before calling out ‘BINGO!’
q  Set a time limit for how long each Number Card is shown for e.g. 10 seconds (use an egg timer)
q  Speed Bingo – set a timer for 2 minutes, cards are only shown for a short amount of time, the player with the most counters at the end of the 2 minutes is the winner
q  Include the ‘Free’ Number Card in the pack – students must be able to correctly say the number they are putting the free on before placing a counter on that square
q  Number Cards can also be used as flashcards
q  Placemats and Number Cards can also be used as a matching activity
 Enjoy 0-10 Number Bingo!
